The Year That Was 20-12

Fashion, The Dressing Room

So it wasn’t the year the world ended…but with all the good, the bad & the ugly when we think “2012” we will remember certain moments that made us laugh, cry or left us simply confused!

And what did 2012 mean for the world of fashion? London called and the designers followed. The Olympics saw an uptake of the big designer houses dress the athletes; it was a double whammy for the sports and fashion enthusiasts. As we say good bye to 20-12 we pay tribute to the top trends from all things peplum to leather & lace. Are the looks of the year gone one-hit wonders or will they continue to stir a fashion frenzy come 2013? You be the judge 😉

What made the Harpers Bazaar Best Dressed list for 2012?

We thank you all for your loyal support throughout the year, we’ll be back bigger & better in 2013!

Have a wonderful New Year, stay safe!

A Time For Laughter

Home, Food & Body, The Dressing Room

There’s nothing better than getting together
with your family and fiends around Christmas and have a good laugh!

To get the good times rolling we suggest;

Christmas Bon Bons; A great ice breaker, you can even make your own and add personalised prizes inside!

Famous person charades: Everybody writes the name of a famous person or fairy tale character on a scrap of paper and puts it in a hat. Somebody draws a slip of paper and has 60 seconds to get everyone to guess the character using silent gestures.

It’s hilarious to watch!
And if your having trouble thinking up names, there’s plenty of iPhone apps for Charades!

Have A Very Merry Christmas!

Packs A Punch

Home, Food & Body, The Dressing Room

Whether your hosting a Christmas do, or spending a Sunday with the girls…

this Punch will liven up any gathering!

Pineapple Rum Punch

  • 1/4 (500g) medium pineapple, peeled
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, coarsely grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 x 5cm strips lime rind
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 1/4 cups white rum
  • 1 1/2 litres soda water, chilled
  • 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 3 cups ice-cubes

  1. Finely chop 100g pineapple. Thinly slice remaining pineapple and cut into triangles. Set aside.
  2. Step 2Place finely chopped pineapple, sugar, cloves, cinnamon stick, ginger, nutmeg, lime rind, juice and 3/4 cup cold water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 4 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil. Simmer for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Strain mixture into a bowl. Discard solids. Set aside to cool completely.
  3. Step 3Place syrup, rum, soda water, reserved pineapple, mint and ice-cubes in a jug. Gently stir to combine. Serve immediately.
